Why We're Taking a Stand
A movement of Tesla owners standing up against corporate influence in government
Our Story
Many of us bought Teslas to get away from fossil fuel burning cars, as a way of doing our part to fight against climate change. They were the premier car and led the way, but now we have options. If we were to buy a car today, we would likely buy a different brand simply because of Elon Musk's obsession with remaking (aka destroying) the US government.
We are left with a dilemma. We, Tesla owners, are driving around in a car that advertises for Elon's company. We could cover the logo. We already gave him the money, so selling it doesn't really help. Besides then someone else would be driving it around with an uncovered T.
We choose to Cover the T.
Our Mission
We are taking a stand against corporate influence in government. Elon Musk, at the direction of Donald Trump, is actively working to destroy our government. Tesla makes a great car, but the CEO has no business in government.
He is not after fraud, waste and abuse. He is after shutting down institutions that threaten his companies, and wants to privatize many government functions or abandon them completely. They are breaking our system so we all have to kow-tow to the oligarchs.
What We Do
- Cover the Tesla logo on our vehicles to stop free advertising
- Use alternative charging networks when possible
- Cancel premium subscriptions that fund Tesla
- Share our stories and designs with the community
- Stand together against corporate influence in government
Legal Note
We've done the research - nothing illegal about covering a logo as long as you are not trying to pass your car off as a different brand. Given that Musk and Trump now seem to own the government this could change, but then we'll know we're getting attention. That would be a huge red flag. Not that we don't have a lot of red flags already, mind you, but as far as we can tell - it is not illegal to Cover the T™ right now.
If Elon gets out of government, and stops threatening candidates with his money, then we'll uncover the T, but until then, he's not getting our free advertisements.
We will not go quietly.
